A NOTE FROM AL...

Al Silverman

Let me tell you a little bit about my program.

My program is unique. First and foremost, I am different than any other SAT prep program because when I take on your student, I realize completely that his or her very life is in my hands. This is a sacred trust.

I don’t just teach. I inspire. I offer energy, enthusiasm, and positive attitude. I turn pressure, stress, tension, and anxiety into confidence. I have a very special gift. I have the most amazing ability to awaken the genius in young people. My class is a life-changing experience.

My program is a complete program in every way. Math, critical reading, grammar, and the essay. I am a master algebra teacher and a master geometry teacher (my company is called Math Pros, Inc.), who has the unique ability to make even the most difficult math concepts understandable.

The new SAT has removed the tricks and raised the standards. It is now a no-nonsense, classroom-based assessment vehicle, demanding a master algebra teacher and a master geometry teacher who can convey the most complex math concepts in a clear and enlightening way.

My comprehensive course will first introduce your student to these very high-level standards, and then lead him or her to a mastery of these essential concepts.

The math standards that students will be asked to meet on the new SAT are at a much higher level than ever. Students will be asked to meet many of these higher-level math standards for the first time.  Not only will I raise your student’s SAT score, but I will also explain each and every math concept in a way that will allow him or her to take a deep insight into these essential math skills back to the classroom.

Over the course of the last 25 years, I have developed a unique strategy for the Reading Comprehension section that is both powerful and engaging.  The new SAT demands evidence-based critical thinking.  I have been a disciple of the art and science of thinking for over 45 years.  The new SAT has added a new type of question to the critical reading section, one that asks where did you find the evidence.  I have developed a unique and powerful strategy to quickly master this new type of “evidence-based” critical reading.

The writing portion of my program is especially powerful. Not only did I prepare students for the writing portion of the SAT test for over 25 years, but I also went 8 years to a Catholic school in the 50's! We diagrammed over 100 sentences a day. And now that the writing portion makes up a full 50% of the verbal score, the amazing power of my grammar program to raise your student’s verbal score is more important than ever.

But most of all, my classes are fun. They are fast-paced, high-level and entertaining. Your student will love them.
